Greetings, Larry Blog readers everywhere!
My name is Jay Muller, and I am proud to declare myself the newest member of the ANCILE Customer Success Team. As of now, I am still in the on-boarding process, and am doing rotations with each of the scrum teams. I’m excited as I go through the process of learning as much as I can about our software and your needs as customers.
Perhaps you would like to know a little more about who I am and where I came from. I suppose I should start at the beginning. I was born and raised just north of ANCILE’s HQ in the Towson and Timonium areas of Baltimore County, MD. After graduating from high school, I joined the US Army and served for 6 years as an Intelligence Analyst. During that time, I had the pleasure of learning Korean (for which I consider myself conversational, but not fluent) in Monterey, CA. I served a tour in South Korea, and after achieving the rank of SGT (E5), I deployed to Afghanistan, where I spent a significant portion of my tour directly supporting a company of infantry soldiers.
At the end of my enlistment, I was given the opportunity to train deploying units on many of the lessons learned during deployment, particularly with regard to counterinsurgency, intelligence techniques and tactics as a civilian instructor. This is an experience I am very grateful to have had, and one that instilled in me the importance of knowledge retention, innovation, ability and willingness to adapt to changing environments, and frequent cross-discipline collaboration.
After these experiences, I decided to return home to Maryland, and continue my education at CCBC, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Associate of Arts in General Studies with a focus in Business/Economics. From there, I transferred to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where attended for a year before returning home to assist my family. Currently, I am a student in Stevenson University’s Graduate/Professional Studies program where I am finishing my Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems.
In my free time, I greatly enjoy learning and trying new things, to increase my understanding and knowledge about the world and myself. Topics of particular interest are computers and technology, economics, business, human behavior, and history. I also enjoy watching a variety of sports including baseball, basketball, NASCAR, and soccer, though I generally consider myself a casual fan, with the exception of college basketball (GO HEELS!). I also enjoy riding and learning about motorcycles. While I don’t currently own one, I hope to get back into the saddle soon!
I’m very excited to be here at ANCILE, and look forward to interacting with all of you in the future!
