Meet Dan Pugh, General Counsel for ANCILE, and the ANCILE Legal Team

By Dan Pugh

As General Counsel of ANCILE, I serve as the company’s chief legal and compliance officer, working out of the ANCILE headquarters in Elkridge, Maryland. I am a business attorney with more than 19 years of experience representing companies, executives, entrepreneurs, scientists, and investors. I enjoy working with startups and technology-driven companies like ANCILE, and in my career I have assisted in all aspects of business including founding, organization, operations, early-stage and mezzanine investments, IPOs, public and private M&A transactions, intellectual property development and licensing, joint ventures, and corporate governance. Before joining ANCILE, I served as Chief Operating Officer of a startup company helping entrepreneurs connect with investors through social networks and crowd funding tools. Our Legal team is focused on providing high-quality business, legal, and strategic advice and guidance to the entire ANCILE organization.

My name is Scott Palmer and I’m an attorney at ANCILE, working remotely out of my home office in Maryland. I’ve been with the company for over 16 years. During that time I’ve worked in various positions at ANCILE including software engineer, solutions architect, and research and development, before settling in the Legal team. With such a diverse background, I am able to understand and interact with our technology folks at the team member level, providing them with real-time legal help in security and compliance matters during the entire software lifecycle. One of our team goals is to provide timely and relevant advice with exceptional customer service.

Hello, my name is Christina Parsley and I am a Legal Assistant for the ANCILE Solutions Legal team. I am located at the ANCILE headquarters in Elkridge, Maryland and have been with the company for just over a month. While I am still considered a newbie, I have been diving head-first into the document request process, with the goal of rendering excellent service to the organization.

The Legal team is a key component of ANCILE’s company-wide culture of ethics and compliance, as we work to navigate the many laws and regulations in the countries where we do business throughout the world. We ensure that ANCILE’s internal processes safeguard data privacy and we evaluate security resources, vendors, and procedures to keep both customers’ and ANCILE’s data protected. The Legal team is also responsible for guiding our risk management efforts to ensure a healthy and stable ANCILE for the long term. We manage ANCILE’s intellectual property portfolio as well as perform more routine functions such as preparing and reviewing standard legal documents, including licensing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and many others. Please let us know how we can assist you.
